Printer properties, ports, we select the IP port. Apply, and retry the print. And again the printspooler stops working. Restarted the service And after the second restart, the spooler remains in operation, but the testprint has gone from the printqueue. Your possibility of step 4 isn't really applicable.
I am an administrator on the system, and know I have access to everything. I've run all of this under my account which is administrator equivalent, and done so by selecting 'run as administrator' a few times. HP refers to Microsoft for the driver, but it seems the bit Microsoft driver is not up to the task of talking to this HP printer.
Microsoft in the mean time seems to pretend nothing is actually wrong, because probably 'the DeskJet C is a dinosaur and thus is not used by anyone anymore'. While I agree the Deskjet C is a dinosaur of a printer, it's also one of the finest examples of HP products to survive for such a long time, and still function properly. Going with the above test results, and my findings of my previous posts, aswell as the found posts indicating similar problems, I still stand with my reasoning that the Microsoft provided printerdriver on 64 bit for the HP DeskJet C is faulty.
Nobody else having any further ideas, drivers or potential other solutions? And we opted in with HP, to make sure you buy new hardware, eventho the old hardware is listed as 'should be working'. You get the OS for free, but can fork over cash to get your functionality from Windows 7 back.
While it WOULD work around the issue since it does not solve the issue the fact that I have a perfectly good printer, with still a load of full cartridges for it, would mean I'd have to toss more than just the worth of the printer. Someone suggested installing VirtualBox from Oracle already have that installed , and creating a Windows 7 PC on there.
Then drag over the stuff he wanted to print to that machine, and print from there, which he claimed worked. While a work-around a LONG workaround with a lot of convoluted steps , this kind of defeats the purpose of having Windows 10 on the computer. Nobody have any idea about potential work being done on the driver to get this to work?
I'd like to see it working I don't remember if I have a but I have a and in my collection. I'm going to move your post off of the LaserJet board and to the Drivers board, hopefully you will get better results there.
